Therapeutic effects:
Generic Celebrex contains Celecoxib as an active ingredient which exerts anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic action. Therapeutic action is associated with blocking the enzyme COX-2 which is necessary for production of inflammatory mediators – prostaglandins which play a key role in pathogenesis of inflammation and pain.
In therapeutic doses Celecoxib does not inhibit COX-1 and thus does not exert its action on physiological processes associated with COX-1 in the stomach, intestine and thrombocytes.
Indications:
Generic Celebrex is indicated in:
- Acute pain relief, including pain following a procedure or muscle strain
- Arthritis symptoms treatment such as pain, stiffness, swelling. Celecoxib is used to treat different arthritis types such as osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and rheumatoid arthritis. The medication helps only relieve arthritis symptoms, but does cure the disease.
- Pain associated with menstrual periods
