Drug name: Ventolin (salbutamol)
Therapeutic effects:
Ventolin contains the active ingredient – Salbutamol which is selective agonist of beta2 – adrenergic receptors. By stimulating adrenergic receptors, Ventolin treats and prevents bronchospasm. Ventolin also prevents the release of histamine, slow reacting substance of anaphylaxis from mast cells. The medication begins working quickly and therapeutic effect lasts 4 hours.
Indications:
Ventolin is indicated to treat and prevent bronchial asthma attacks, bronchospasms associated with allergic reactions and physical loads Ventolin can be used in long-term treatment of bronchial asthma Ventolin can be prescribed to treat Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) accompanied by airways obstruction including chronic bronchitis
